In this work, the corrosion of AISI 1005 under low sulfide solution concentration was studied in an attempt to elucidate the initial processes of sulfide film formation. This work concisely elucidates the formation and aging mechanisms of sulfide films. The iron anodic films were grown using cyclic voltammetric techniques.
